Add a Jira group as request participants
Jira Service Management adds participants one person at a time. Here’s how to add a whole group, or the whole organization, automatically.
What Jira Service Management gives you
- Agents and customers add participants one person at a time.
- Automation for Jira can add named people as participants; keeping that list in step with a group is up to you.
- Sharing a request with an organization emails its members once; after that they hear nothing unless they choose to follow it.
With Customer Roster
A participant rule says: when a request is created in this project (optionally of this request type), add these people as participants — the members of a Jira group, an organization, or the request's own organization.
- Rules → Participant rules → New participant rule.
- Pick the project, optional request type, and the group or organization. Set the per-request limit.
- Read the weekly email estimate (from the last 30 days of requests).
- Type the estimate to turn the rule on.
Participants get Jira Service Management's emails about the request — that's the point. People who have never signed in may also get a "confirm your email" note. Rules start off, and you see the estimate before any rule goes on. See Email behavior.
